Ms. Tinisha Hamberlin
Ms. Tinisha Hamberlin is honored to serve in her second year with the Eastside Union School District, where she leads the Educational Services Division with a strong commitment to equity, excellence, and whole-child development. Her leadership is rooted in building coherent systems aligned to the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the Community School Pillars: integrated student supports, expanded learning time, active family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership and practices.
Her work focuses on strengthening Tier 1 instruction, expanding structured literacy in the early grades, embedding English learner strategies, and advancing culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy. Through the redesign of the district’s Instructional Leadership Teams (ILTs) and consistent collaboration with site leaders, she has helped build greater instructional coherence and elevate the quality of teaching and learning across the district.
During her early tenure, the district made meaningful progress toward key goals, including an incremental increase in overall attendance and a 7.5% reduction in chronic absenteeism, by strategically aligning instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional supports across departments. These early achievements reflect a shared commitment to coherence, equity, and student-centered practices.
Looking ahead, she is focused on deepening the work of COST (Coordination of Services Teams) and integrating social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies for students, staff, families, and the broader school community. This work is part of a larger effort to build a district-wide culture grounded in emotional intelligence, empathy, and collective wellness—one that supports each child’s academic success and personal development.
Ms. Hamberlin holds a B.A. in Journalism from Baylor University and two M.A. degrees in Educational Leadership & Administration from California State University, Northridge. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Teaching and Learning at Liberty University. She remains actively engaged in educator development as a mentor for new administrators pursuing their California credentials.
She is also a proud member of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA), the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), and the International Coaching Federation (ICF)—organizations that continue to enrich her leadership through advocacy, equity-centered practice, and professional growth.
Grounded in purpose and a belief in the power of collective impact, Ms. Hamberlin is proud to serve Eastside Union School District and looks forward to deepening the work of creating schools where all students, families, and educators feel connected, capable, and supported.
